Artist Statement
Human rights icon, Martin Luther King, Jr. was a clergyman, activist and prominent leader in the African-American civil rights movement.  In 1955, King led the Montgomery Bus Boycott and in 1957 he helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and served as its first president.  In 1963, King delivered his “I Have A Dream” speech during the march on Washington where he raised public consciousness of the civil rights movement and established himself as one of the greatest orators in our history.
